• Read the story once to the child. Then encourage the child to read after you, a few words or a sentence at a time.
• Point out details in the pictures and the characters i the story to the child. Ask the child if he or she can spot other characters hiding nearby.
• Encourage questions from the child and help him or her to find the answers.
